I can always appreciate a good designed bike. I can appreciate it even more when the bike has a story behind it, and it’s not just brand spanking new.
Check out this article on Design Milk I came across on Moosach Bikes.

This is the Yellow Treehouse Restaurant (also known as Redwoods Treehouse) in Warkworth (north of Auckland), New Zealand. I stumbled upon this design a while back when I was doing a restaurant design project.
This isn’t just some restaurant the public can just go to. You need a private coach to get to it, and make a reservation for a booking like a private function or a corporate event. I really enjoy the fact that they designed this space around a tree.
You can read more about the restaurant at it’s website here: http://www.yellowtreehouse.co.nz/index.html

I love using wood in my design projects as much as possible so I really enjoyed coming across this product!
Wooden Lightbulb by Ryosuke Fukusada
Wooden lightbulbs, how do they work? Miracles exist all around us, but this particular LED lightbulb is carefully wrapped in a thin wooden sheet, chipped away until its thin enough to glow.
Had an extremely magical night at Deer Lake Park. I thoroughly enjoyed the opener, The Staves. Their voices are so beautiful.
Bon Iver though, my goodness. I can’t even find the words to describe my feelings. It was such a beautiful show, it was spiritual, and at times emotional! These guys have so much talent it’s crazy. I’ll pay whatever kind of money to experience them again.
Just thought I’d post a quicky.
Judson Beaumont is one creative man, a local of Vancouver, and a really, really nice guy. I had the pleasure of meeting him about a year ago when he presented for my materials class. His work is super funky, kind of like Tim Burton meets Disney or, with most of his products, just Disney (specifically Beauty and the Beast - one of my favourites).

In my latest project I’ve been toying around with the idea of using wallpaper (something I normally don’t do). I came across a really ‘cute’ company.
In 2005 Karen Combs founded Nama Rococo Wallpaper Studio. They make hand printed, hand painted wallpaper by the sheet, using acid free French paper. Their website is pretty funky too.

Interior Designer, Hilla Shamina, has developed a series by joining wood and aluminum together. These are some pretty creative pieces!
